TiggerK's excellent guide it talks about selecting cable, setting up set top box, etc, etc..
I've run TV setup in VMC a few times and can't see this anywhere.. Any tips pse..
I have 2 x Avermedia Hybrids, had these set for digital tuners and now added audio tuners, also connected AV cables to set top box, so should be ready..

I have a pair of Avermedia duo Hybrid's and I set up the analogue tuners prior - nothing showing. Even on Avermedia's own MC set up nothing showed up under analigue set up (although I only tried one tuner, so maybe I missed it..) - however maybe I'm missing your point.. ??

and got stuck - sorry but what product is it that I need, and am I gonna have to pay for this at some point?
Re: Foxtel setup (again) - not seeing cable in TV setup
Peedon,
If your talking about the A16AR or A16D hybrids (PCI) then Ive noticed that the new Avermedia drivers now have an analogue BDA driver component too (previously it was just the digital that had BDA, and therefore was only DTV able to work with VMC and MCE).
But..havent tested them to see if the analogue part works in VMC yet myself (although can see I have option to tune in analogue or DTV)
The Mainconcept encoder a few have mentioned is a soft BDA driver which acts as an interface between the analogue part of the card and VMC. Think there was a link to the Mainconcept encoder in Wixkidders post about FM tuner and Avermedia cards too (if its still there). Wouldnt go installing this just yet though as I dont think you need it!
You mention though that you get no signal outside of VMC, even using AverTV...this isnt good!. Get a picture there first then proceed.
You should get the option to tune in DTV OR Analogue in VMC (proves that both the DTV and analogue BDA drivers are working).
Follow the instructions on how to setup Foxtel and DTV (if you want DTV and Foxtel/Analogue) or just analogue and setup your guide.
Hope it helps.

I have the hybrid cards (A16D I think), do you have to force an update to get these drivers? IT may be that I had the foxtel plugged into the wrong card, ie I was tuning the card without foxtel plugged in, but I think I tried both and nothing other than the regular 5 channels showed up. So OK, being a bit thick here maybe, should I try the update to get the full BDA driver, the link for the soft BDA is below your post I think, but you're not recommending this?..
Cheers

Hi Paul,
I can't vouch for them (haven't tried them yet) but I can see the new version available on the AverMedia website;
Re: Foxtel setup (again) - not seeing cable in TV setup
I wouldnt go installing anything I didnt necessarily need.
Like cr_972003 I can't vouch for the analogue part of the drivers as I use a Hauppage card for my foxtel (which BTW is a good option as it has onboard hardware MPEG2), but if you install the new drivers Im pretty sure you should get the option to tune either the Digital or analogue parts.
If you just get the 5 channels, then it sounds like your tuning in DTV.
BTW when you do tune in the analogue in VMC, it should give you the option of what plug to receive the signal on (i.e the antennae or Svideo input).
Cheers
