All
I am looking to make the leap into the world of a HTPC, however I have Foxtel (today) and am potentially swapping over to Optus in the coming months. I am looking to buy a pre-built system as I simply don't have the time, nor inclination to build my own these days
Having researched a fair amount I am leaning towards the Nix Media Centres as they seem to have a good reputation with quality products. The model I am specifically interested in is
http://members.optusnet.com.au/nixme.../MC3000V3.html, which I will be connecting to a Toshiba 42WL58A 42" LCD TV.
I have a few questions, as I am still new to this and before making an investment I want to ensure that the WAF will remain high - the concept appeals to her, I want to execute on it
Does anybody have any experience with the above TV and connecting a HTPC to it. I currently watch DVDs through a MacBook Pro (with Vista) and this has Overscan issues with the ATI graphics card, I do not want to face this with a dedicated HTPC.
Do I still need Analogue tuners for Optus if I change in the future?
The reason for the unit with the front panel is to allow me to listen to music without having to turn the TV on etc.
I would be interested in your comments on this before I move forward
Many thanks
