Getting the best possible foxtel cap

I purchased a separate analog tuner to do occasional foxtel caps in Vista - i have no interest in trying to configure it in VMC, however the quality i'm getting is really quite pathetic.

I purchased a Leadtek tv2000 XP tuner, i know not the best but i assumed the cap itself would generally be all the same, and since i wasnt worried about integrating with VMC, i wanted to go a cheap option.

The quality is nowhere near comparable as it is direct to tv, and they're the same composite connections - one to tuner, other direct to tv.

Also what i've noticed is a massive sized cap when complete - a footy match, about 3 hours took about 40 Gig using the lagarith codec, while a cap of a HD channel in VMC will take 10 Gig ! How can the HD cap, which is perfect quality come out so much smaller than the crap-quality analog cap ??

I was only able to find a program called iuVCR to do the analog cap, the best one i could find, quite easy to use.

Any help on getting a better quality cap, if so i will get another card if i have to - the caps are only just watchable ....
