Which CI Cam for Select TV?

Hello All,

I am hoping one of you Satellite wizards can help me with this.

I have a DVB-S decoder with a CI Cam. At the moment i have an Irdeto Cam, however, how do i know if it is Irdeto 2 compatible? Apparently this is a requirement for Select TV.

The model number for the cam is 901205 ver1.1

I have subscribed for a month and want to check it out. It might be worth it for the movies.

Cheers,

LukePerth

Re: Which CI Cam for Select TV?

Hi,

I found this thread here. It seems to be Irdeto II.

I am pretty sure that It won't work . The card is compatible with irdeto 2 but isn't compatible with the latest v.5 epsilon cards used by selectv.

you need a cam module like this one:

Re: Which CI Cam for Select TV?

Bugger!

Select TV didn't mention anything about Epsilon.

All they required was a Irdeto 2 Compliant STB. I have one that uses a replaceable CAM. I will give the current one a go, if it doesn't work, i will try to source one of the new purple cams. Will they work?

Re: Which CI Cam for Select TV?

It says the card has been tested with SelecTV.

It also says it works with Austar.

An irdeto 2 compliant STB has irdeto 2 already embedded on it such as this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-OPENTEL-O...QQcmdZViewItem

they are fairly cheap and will work on selectv. So Instead of getting a purple CAM, If I was you I would probably sell your current stb and irdeto cam and get an embedded box.

If I were you - I'd get either Matrix or Dragon / TRex CAM.
Those are universal and support most if not all encryption systems.

Even on the page suggested above you have "Matrix Reborn" CAM...

http://www.eurodigital.com.au/produc...products_id=37

...which supports:
Cryptoworks,
Irdeto1/2,
Seca1/2,
Viacces1/2,
Nagravision,
Betacrypt and Conax
...

Regards

I own the mentioned shop and I can assure you that the matrix reborn won't do irdeto 2 epsilon and I highly doubt that t-rex does.

Re: Which CI Cam for Select TV?

I spoke to the Select TV help desk and they have assured me that all i need is Irdeto 2. They said they didn't use Epsilon, and my CAM and STB will be ok.

All in all, they are a very helpfull bunch.

I am hoping to get the card today and am trialing it for a month.

Thanks all,

Let us know how it goes and good luck but I doubt that it will work . Selectv does use irdeto 2 v.5 epsilon and that CAM does not decrypt it as far as I know. for more info visit www.austech.info
