Hi there,
After having so many problems with EPGrunner, i decided to try and use Bladerunner and Oztivo as someone suggested here. I have tried to follow these instructions (http://minnie.tuhs.org/tivo-bin/tvguide.pl) , and intially got a code:20 error in MCE. This, i thought was to do with the fact that i hadn't actually disabled EPGrunner. So rather than do that I reset my MCE configurations and started with those instructions again.
When i run bladerunner it fires up OZtivo and gets data. I have checked my preferences and have the station preferences and other preferences set (ie XML TV). Since i'm new to this i can't find the blade runner log, but it appears to have no errors when i see it on the screen.
My problem comes when i use MCE and set up guide listings, and enter in 0000 as the postcode as normal. It thinks about it for a little while and then comes back with the message "TV program guide listings are not available for your country or region". I'm in Canberra and see there are Canberra channels there.
Is there something i am missing or could you point me to some logs or files that show no program data???
however it was working for me about 2 weeks ago.
i then got a warning saying that the guide data was low.
now it says no guide data available, and to set up the guide.
at which point i put in the 0000 zip code again, and get
"TV program guide listings are not available for your country or region"
i see bladerunnerpro downloading the data, and completing ok.
it just seems that MCE isnt picking up the .bin file it creates anymore.
anyone know where the log files are / what theyre called?
EDIT: I should look at previous posts first - there seems to be something helpful, will give it a go.
If you are using the "My Movies" reg hack, then your computer will think you are in the US. If so, you'll need to change the reg hack back to Aus and then run the EPG. Once that is done, you can then do the reg hack again.
If you don't know what I mean by the reg hack then it shouldn't be a problem for you. If you are interested in using the reg hack, search this site, the green button and google can help too.
Cheers

Hello, I think there is something wrong with my pc, as when i try and just use bladerunner pro to download the guide i get a code 13 error. I have tried using the older bladerunner too and that hasn't worked either. I have to admit that i haven't had the time to really look into what code 13 error means, but i intend on searching this site for more info. If anyone come across a thread and wants to send me a link to some info about it, that would be cool. Otherwise i'll continue with my investigations..... Will let you know if i find a solution. And no i haven't used the my movies reg hack. Will look into it though.
On a different note, has anyone noticed or found a work around for the fact that in media center you can't fast forward and rewind my videos? I need to research that also.
After a little bit of investigating i have the following thoughts....
- that you can't use bladerunner pro 3.5 without putting in a grabber, and since oztivo is the only grabber i know then i'll use that.
- i am able to get data when i execute bladerunner now (for a while i wasn't since i had removed my grabber thinking i could use it without it)
- now i am back to where i was earlier with MCE thinking i'm in a different region, and although i'm not using the hack for my movies that dobson_c suggested, i following up on that train of thought. I'm not sure what else could be making my computer think its not Australian.
When i look at the HDIT text document it has listed the Prime TV shows, so its looking for some Australian content. It is Prime only which makes me think its either only getting prime or its using this doc and clearing it for each channel. I'm not sure how all this works....
I appreciate any suggestions of where to look next...

Both OZtivo and Jrobbo get data, but MCE still says "Program guide listings are not available for your country or region" after entering in 0000. I wish EPGrunner still worked as that was very nice and worked a treat with MCE. EPGrunner is just too flakey as its been on and off for the year i have been doing this...
Am I missing something that MCE needs to know about these guides?????
You wouldn't believe it but its fixed..... and i don't even know what I did.
Bascially i installed epgrunner again to see if that would get the guide data, then when it didn't work, i uninstalled it again. Just about to give up for the day, i thought i would installed bladerunner again and oztivo, and wait to see if anyone replies here. Anyway, the guide data downloaded (like normal) and it picked it up in MCE. I didn't do anything that i hadn't done over and over again. Anyway i have guide data and channels etc.... but we will see for how long.
I really don't understand how it could have been fixed but i'm happy for the time being
I'm having the same problem with the country not being available. I'm in WA so thought it was because of the daylight savings but I think it is from putting Norton anti-virus on. I'll try and uninstall and re-install to see if that fixes it.

You will need the PC to have internet access for MCE to check for guide listing for that postcode. If it can't reach the internet, you will go no further.
Have you installed BRP3.5 and OzTivoExtreme.exe into the BladeRunnerPro directory and setup your OzTivo User Password etc.
Or was it working and just stopped when you installed Norton?
Got it going again thanks Lester. I happened to have the old EPG registry settings and when I put them back it started working again. It was definately something to do with Norton. Now I have the Code 33 when I download the program which is to do with the Norton Firewall. I can download the EPG by temporarily disabling the firewall.
Thanks,
Scooter.
