New user - can'[t get BRP / OzTivoExtreme working...

Hi!

Following the instructions in the Wiki, I have done the following on a newly installed MCE machine:

Installed BRP 3.5

Registered an account with OzTivo as per Wiki instructions...

Install OzTivoExtreme...

Run BRP Configurator and setup OzTivo as per instructions.

When I run BRP I see this:

This looks like I am missing the Channelinfo.xml and guide.xml files.

Where is one supposed to get these two files from? I didn't see anything in the destructions regarding them...

Anyone care to assist a newbie?

cheers
Rob

Hi,

You now need OzTivo Extreme from the downloads section and follow the OzTivo instructions from here

You don't need a Channelinfo, as it will generate it's own. Place OzTivo Extreme in the Blade Runner folder. No files required, apart from OzTivo Extreme.

Re: New user - can'[t get BRP / OzTivoExtreme working...

ummm...Lester...did you not read all the way down my post?

I already have OzTivoExtreme installed and configured in BPR as per the instructions.

Why the error messages about missing files when BPR runs, then?

cheers
Rob

Re: New user - can'[t get BRP / OzTivoExtreme working...

Hi rob,

Sorry about that....I skipped through it
As far as I knew, the latest BRP 3.5 will create the channelinfo.xml if it doesn't exist.

All I did with mine when the upgrade came along was, copy OzTivo Extreme into the Bladerunner Pro directory, run the OzTivo Extreme first to set it up before BRP, run BRP configurator, delete old OzTivo and create new job linking to OzTivo Extreme with no parameters.

Did you run OzTivo beore setting up BRP to make sure it was OK first?
I have a feeling that OzTivo is not grabbing channels for BRP to make a valid channelinfo.xml from.

RD,

Have you tried Free EPG? No fuzz to setup, easy to update.

You're sure that you don't need any command line params in the BPR setup?

Re: New user - can't get BRP / OzTivoExtreme working...

Hey now...this is weird...I just ran BRP from the shortcut within the CD:\Windows\ehome\BladeRunnerPro directory, and it bloody well worked!!

There must be something dud about the shortcut in the Start Menu...

I will copy this shortcut over the top of the existing one...

cheers

Re: New user - can'[t get BRP / OzTivoExtreme working...

The Start Menu Icon DID NOT have the -t option on the command line.

I modified the start menu icon properties, and it works perfecto now!

Thanks for your input...

cheers

Question Re: New user - can'[t get BRP / OzTivoExtreme working...

Hi,

I'm getting mostly the same problems as rdtaylor. I've totally uninstalled and reinstalled BRP3.5 and OzTivoExtreme, done the first time configuration and entered the username/password into the OzTivoExtreme GUI, but no matter where I run BRP from, it keeps saying:

"The file C:\WINDOWS\ehome\BladeRunnerPro\GuideData\xmltv.xm l was not found."

"WHOOPS, Process failed, please refer to any errors..."

I've had all this working fine since OzTivoExtreme was first released, and then it just stopped the other day for no apparent reason, and no apparent changes.

I haven't got any firewall on this system and I've checked my preferences on the OzTivo website and they are all correct.

Any thoughts why this file is not being found, and how to rectify the problem?

Cheers,
Digi.

Re: New user - can'[t get BRP / OzTivoExtreme working...

Did you check the properties on the Start Menu icon ?

Was the "-t" missing from the command line?

cheers
