BRP + OvTivo = Auto Update?

Hey guys,

I'm using Bladerunner Pro and OzTivo and would like to automate the process of downloading my daily TV guide.

I've tried scheduling the update in "Scheduled Tasks" but it doesn't seem to be overly successful, maybe I'm missing something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks!
Wakie.

Either way you will need to be a little more specific.

Re: BRP + OvTivo = Auto Update?

Perhaps he means to stop it continually asking if he would like to update the guide and just do it.

Re: BRP + OvTivo = Auto Update?

Wakie,

I'm still not completely clear what you are trying to resolve here, more info would help.

In general though, in simple terms two parts to the process BRPro and MCE guide load process. You need the BRPro / OZTvio scheduled task to run at say 4:37am, this may take a few minutes to complete. Now schedule your MCE guide update for some reasonable time after that, say 15 - 30 minutes using the EPGTIme utility (downloads section).

Is the scheduled task failing / prompting or the guide load?

Re: BRP + OvTivo = Auto Update?

Do you meaning avoiding the "you're running out of listings" type of messages? Not sure this is possible, as OzTivo usually drops below 3 days listings for some channels at one or two points in the week.

Re: BRP + OvTivo = Auto Update?

One point you may have overlooked - for a scheduled task to run, it must use a Windows account that logs on with a password. Use Powertoys utility Tweakit available from MS website to automate logging on without having to deal with it (e.g. when restarting or coming out of hibernation). Like I said, I'm only stabbing in the dark to help!

You will also find that the Oztivo instructions for automating the guide updates has been rewritten and is much more straighforward. You will find it here:
MCE < TVGuide < OzTiVo
