Re: oztivo website slow?

I think that there is a problem with them overzealoously banning IPs, apparently they unban them next day or something but its to try and make sure the service is available all the time to as many people as poss. I guess the sign up page does lots of requests and causes it to think its being attacked or something ?

Re: oztivo website slow?

Unfortunately with recent (last few months) attacks, we have been forced to install the blacklist plugin on the wiki. Points are awarded for various actions and if you exceed a certain amount of points your IP is banned for 24 hours.

You were probably blacklisted because you tried to register (or refreshed the register page) more than 3 times in a 5 minute period from the one IP.

If you have any issues with the site wait 5 minutes and try again, this should allow enough time to reset your blacklist points and stop your IP from being blacklisted.

Peter.
