DUGG vs. OzTivo

I'm currently using OzTivo and have been very happy. But I've heard good things about DUGG, is it worth the effort switching over? Including the fact that anyday NineMSN might change their encreption throwing everything out....again.

Re: DUGG vs. OzTivo

Additionally, does series' work properly with DUGG, for example in OzTivo when you record a series even when configured correctly records every occurance of the series. even if record only first showing is ticked.

Re: DUGG vs. OzTivo

Hi mvjs,

I used DUGG for a couple weeks after EPGrunner got into trouble. DUGG worked well and did series and one off recording without any problems. However, due to its grabbing method at the time, as I think it related to Ninemsn site, it failed and the guidegrabber had to rework it. There were also some teething problems with its stability when it lost server connection and didn't load properly, which in turn caused it to fail to load data the next time it connected. I think he worked on the later problem but, as you said, it could still be flakey if it relies solely on Nine. I have since moved onto Oztivo but I will be keeping my eye on DUGG as it sounds promising in the way it may grab data from more than one place and rework it in various ways.

Re: DUGG vs. OzTivo

I'm very tempted to switch to DUGG....not that I'm not happy with OzTivo (expect for that series problem) but DUGG looks great.

Re: DUGG vs. OzTivo

Maybe think of it this way.

"If it aint broke, don't fix it."

Why change it if what your using works?

Re: DUGG vs. OzTivo

Two Reasons

1. Quality of Data - NineMSN is a professional source

2. Series Recording, which works. [note mentioned problem]
