Project idea: Movie Synopsis

Hi

I have previously tried to learn how to make add-ins for Vista MCE, but I am just not that good a programmer yet. Therefore I turn to you and hope that someone will think this is as good idea as I think and start making it.

Problem: I have stored a lot of different movies in mainly divx and xvid format. When time goes by I forget what the movie is about and miss the ability to read a short synopsis.

Idea: It would be cool if you, in the video library, could press the "I" button and choose some menu and get a synopsis of the movie the cursor is at. The synopsis could be stored in a text or xml-file store in the same folder as the movie, maybe even with the same name for matching up.

What do you think?

Oh, by the way, I know of MyMovies, just want something simpler for non-dvd only

Something like they have been doing for ages in XBMC and Media Portal, something like Big Screen Movies and Big Screen TV(when and if it ever comes out!).

Re: Project idea: Movie Synopsis

But isn't it relatively easy for a skilled mce programmer to look for a txt/xml file and display the content in an orderly manner?

I'm eagerly awaiting for a VMC plugin that does just this! I prefer the full page before play like VMC does for dvd rather than the info à la MediaPortal.

I could just use MP, but I prefer VMC interface, has many other plugins and -important- i want do have a separate listing for
-dvd (VMC does this with a little registry hack)
-recordings (vmc probably does this - have to explore yet)
-video (lacking)

Lastly, I'm not waiting another year for Big Screen Movies
