Easy to setup and works well. Follow directions on Ice website here.

Note if you store the webget program in a different directory make sure you use MS DOS file names as the batch file created doesn't seem to like long directory names. Safest to use exactly as on directions. Good luck.

Re: Media Portal and Ice TV Setup

Yes thankyou for the reply. I have just downloaded media portal II (infinity) and giving it a spin. I have just installed more tuners on my rig. I have three avermedia 777's and just installed the avermedia duo as well. I thought it might be time to try media portal again and see what the expereince is like. My VMCE setup runs well. But I would just like to try something different!
Any other pitfalls I should watch out for? If I replaced my VMCE setup, how would I go about replacing all the media centre services with the media portal?
Many thanks again.
Nigel

Re: Media Portal and Ice TV Setup

The TV part of Infinity doesn't work at the moment does it? It's still fairly buggy as well.

The idea is good, but if you're planning on using Media Portal then only option really is the latest build of 1.

Yes as DGaust said Media Portal I is the way to go. II is not yet ready for prime time. What MCE services do you mean to replace in MP?

Re: Media Portal and Ice TV Setup

Hi Guys,

I was trying to setup the media portal as the default 'media centre' rather than the normal VMCE. I understand that you would have to work through trying to stop the default VMCE
Media Centre Services, so as to run media portal by itself.
