PRV software and capture card suggestions
Hi all
I plan on building a dedicated windows vista media centre pc around July of this year. However, until then, I'd like to use my existing pc as a PVR and stream the content to my xbox 360 which is hooked up to my projector. I am currently running windows XP Home and, given my expected build in July, I'd prefer not to purchase Windows Media Centre or Windown Vista Premium just now. So, what other PVR programs do you suggest? From what I can gather, Media Portal seems popular. As for capture cards, I was thinking about a DNTV Dual Hybrid TV Card from DigitalNow but I'm open to suggestions (something that I could source from a retail shop in Melbourne would be handy). If I get Media Portal will I also need separate software to watch recorded tv shows on my projector? My current rig is as follows:
