Question Eva 8000 Do u need a router?

Hi everyone, I have just brought a netgear eva 8000 online and while waiting on delivery I was thinking about how to set it up in my room. Now my problem is, with our set up we use a dsl router (does have wireless but have turned it off) and nas drive connected to our 4 pc's using ethernet cable, now my room is big and cannot run cable from my pc to my tv so I brought the eva 8000 and what i want to do is run the eva directly to my pc though wireless adpater not the router, Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks

So, you'll be running an ad hoc wireless network - see if the EVA supports an "ad hoc" connection.

Re: Eva 8000 Do u need a router?

After finding the key word of "ad hoc" I was able to find the info and find out that I will not be able to do what i wanted to do, It sucks that I have to go from one side of my room all the way to the lounge to the router and then all the way back wireless to my eva, but in the end all should be good as i recieve my eva on monday (was at work when courier delivered this arvo).
