I have a Linksys DMA-2200 connected over 802.11n to my Vista media center PC. connected to a LCD TV running 720p over HDMI.
I original had a VMC PC with a AMD 3200+, Nvidia 6600GT running 32bit vista. When watching live/recorded TV the picture was great, the quality was close to the inbuilt tuner on my TV.
I have change the VMC PC to Intel 2600, Nvidia 7300LE running 64bit Vista. On the VMC PC the live/recorded TV looks fine. When running through the DMA-2200 the picture is not too good at all. The for ground looks fine but the background looks not very crisp, not very good when watching football.
The PQ from my DMA 2200 is crap - the UI looks soft and the PQ when playing video's isnt as good as it should be.. Ive stopped using it due to this and the other issues (speed, codecs etc)
The quality from my DMA2200 is perfect, whether live or recorded. In fact they're as good as pictures on the TV using its own tuner. I'm using HDMI as well. No issues with speed either.
You should always take into account, the combination of the display's buit in scaler, output format of the linksys, connection type etc. Try different resolutions like 720p or 1080i or p and also try component out instead of HDMI. You might be surprised by the results.
The DMA2200 has issues negotiating resolutions over HDMI when used with DVI dongle. (as is my situation). So HDMI for me looks worse than when I use say 720p or 1080i via component.
The picture still looks very 'soft' when viewed by component when compared to viewing the real MCE interface on the SAME TV via component.
It just doesnt cut it for me - Im not sure if my standards are higher than some, or if Im getting different results - but the picture is definatly way worse than compared to the direct MCE interface on same TV via same cables.

I'm inclined to think I'm getting different results to you, because my benchmark is the TV (a Panasonic) displaying images from its internal digital tuner. The images from my HDMI connected DMA2200 are pretty much identical. I've also compared it to an HDMI connected DVD player and the image quality of the DMA2200 is on a par with that too.
The media center PC has a 20" widescreen monitor attached, so that comparision isn't really meaningful. The quality of the menu on the TV is something I used to have a problem with when I used an s-video connected X-Box as an extender, so I understand why you would use that as a reference.
The menu on the DMA2200 on the TV is perfect.
I know you want to think there is something wrong with my eyesight, but really, my DMA2200 couldn't be better!
I installed the Nvidia 6600GT and installed the latest video drivers from nvidia and this has improved it a bit. but still not as good as the old PC.
The wireless is fine (consistent 95%+ in tests) and plays 1080p, 1080i and 720p movies fine with no quality issues at all.
I have just did a clean install of Vista 64 with SP1 and patches.
I have also disabled the on board Realtek nic and installed an Intel 100 pro S. Installed the drivers from Intel website.
The picture is looking better, but I am testing on the TV in bedroom through S-Video. Will test on the LCD via HDMI tomorrow to see if the problem has been fixed or not.
