My DMA2100 media extender keeps dropping off the network despite having a reported good signal. Worst yet it keeps dis-associating itself from the VMC computer because it is not getting a response from the VMC computer. This means I agonisingly go through the set-up "enter the number" process to re-associate with the VMC on a daily basis.
I have a Linksys WRT350N wireless router and updated the firmware on both the extender and the router as well as all VMC updates. I have also tried turning off firewalls on router and VMC and anti-virus.
Only changes I have made from default settings are setting a static IP on the extender and changing the security to PSK2-Personal to enable wireless-n rather than wireless-g.
Does anyone else have the same problem or any ideas how to fix?

this has happened to me a couple of times aswell. It is very annoying.
I have had so much trouble with the DMA2100!!!!! I'm starting to wonder if its the DMA2100 or issues with the VMC box.
If I leave my VMC box running all of the time, then the DMA2100 behaves normally. All of my troubles appear when I suspend my VMC box, and then awake it.
I am using the MST Power Tool to control the S3, maybe it is stuffing the DMA up?

My DMA2200 is hard wired via Ethernet and I also get connection issues if I restart my VMC. I have found that you should only need to switch the Linksys off and on again to get it to reconnect. The only other thing I can think of is the use of a fixed IP address. Personally I have played around with this and gone back to dynamic since it then seems happier to configure itself correctly. If you have tried all of that and still have problems you may need to contact Linksys support.
for my 2 penny worth, I coul dnot get my 2100 to play ANY TV, recorded or live, multiple searches found only one other occurence of this and th eguy reinstalled MC and it worked straight off, I did the same and Bingo, the 2100 works like a dream, pity the VMC connected to my Projector will not not play ANY HD TV and crashes instantly.
What I'm saying here is don't immediately blame the 2100 for the problem.
Thanks all, I appreciate your suggestions and advice. I suspect it is the Linksys WRT350N router since the network drops out for the two laptops as well as the DMA2100. It seems worse after upgrading the firmware from 2.00.15 to 2.00.17.
Please forgive the following rant but Linksys technical support is the most cr*p support; live chat doesn't support the products or offer meaningful advice and I am yet to receive back their 'within one business day support' email service and it has been well over a week. This leaves me with the phone support which doesn't support outside work hours when I am at work. I can relate to the reviews and opinions on the web referring to products as doorstops and it is really dissapointing since the parent company Cisco does have a great reputation. I would hope that Linksys read the forums and address these issues to prove me and others wrong.
