Exclamation DMA2x00 Firmware Ver 1.1.6 Update Problem

OK I thought it was worth posting this information separately from the original thread so it is perhaps more noticable.

I have spoken with Linksys Tech support in the US today who advise that they are fully aware of the issue and they advise that it is worldwide. The problem is not related to the unit but to an issue with their website and nobody can currently update their firmware as a result. They have engineeers working on the issue and hope to have it resolved by the end of the week. I have been told they will let me know when the issue is resolved and I will post that info back here as soon as I can.

Re: DMA2x00 Firmware Ver 1.1.6 Update Problem

Looks like some people have been able to get it to work though so it's a strange one.

Hopefully they tested the firmware updated better than they tested the update process

According to tech support this was a limited number of people very early on and now nobody can get it to work. It seems something has broken on their server since the initial release.

Re: DMA2x00 Firmware Ver 1.1.6 Update Problem

I rang them and was told that the Australian firmware update was not yet finished, and that there was no eta yet.

I suppose we just have to wait

Lets hope that it add's extra codec support, as well as resolves its issues with connectivity, and freezing when changing channels etc.

OK, I just got a call back tonight telling me this too. It seems that the firmware update has only been released for the USA at this stage (contrary to the documentation I read) and as yet there is no firm ETA for the Australian firmware release. It would be nice if the people at Linksys could get their story consistent before telling me that it's because of a problem with their website. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Re: DMA2x00 Firmware Ver 1.1.6 Update Problem

Yep, got it now.. Menus are faster - but still not what I would expect from a 'next gen' HD player..
There has been no change to the HDMI functionality. I only get 'auto' as an option when I set the system to Pal/50Hz. The picture looks ****house. So I have to resort to 720p component.

How weird is that? You'd think Linksys would know wouldn't you? Go figure!
