Trouble shooting playing videos on DMA2100

Howdy everyone,

I need some help from all you experts .

I'm trying to get videos playing on my DMA2100. TV works fine, recorded TV works fine, music files work fine. But, when I try to play any AVI file, the box usually hangs, or throws up an error "Files needed to display video are not installed" etc.

For instance, I'm trying a file that, according to Gspot, uses the XVID codec (the audio is mp3). It plays fine through media player on the Media Centre PC. No errors in the event log.

The media centre is Vista 64 ultimate SP1, with the latest Vista codecs package installed.

Please help! What the heck do I try next?

Parki.
