Changing DMA2200 Region Codes

I'm an American in Oz at the moment interested in the DMA2200. I'm assuming anything I buy here will be region 4, though most of my DVDs are region 1. Are you able to change the region setting on these things or by some stroke of genius are they region free?

I don't see anywhere in the Linksys menu where you can change the DVD region setting.

The implication in the manual is that it is fixed - "DVD Video Region US and Canada=1, Europe=2, Singapore=3, Australia and New Zealand=4"
