Warning on OZDIRECT

Just to save anyone some hassles - I ordered a DMA2100 from these guys last on Monday 5th May. Website stated they were in stock. Payment received email confirmation was received on Tuesday 6th May. Website states that delivery should be overnight to my area - so Wednesday. On Thursday I emailed to find out where it was and the reply was that they were relocating their offices and would dispatch the goods either Friday afternoon or Monday morning. It's now Wednesday 14th May and no sign of my goods. They refuse to discuss this matter on the phone and in their email their newest "story" is that they are waiting on an ETA from their suppliers which is odd considering their website says they are "In Stock".

Today I emailed them about a refund - deafening silence!

It's all very suspicious - I'd order elsewhere if I were you.

Angry Re: Warning on OZDIRECT

Oh Crap - I wish I had seen this 24 hrs earlier.....
I just ordered a 2100. They werent the cheapest but said it was in stock.
They confirmed the payment received on Monday and I was also expecting a delivery notice today. Nothing.

Marco555, let me know if this shows up?
My cousin works in the fraud department of the Commonwealth bank, I paid them via Netbank. I will see what he can do.

I actually just want the device. Website stock levels should never be beleived......but I did it again!

regards
Alec

Re: Warning on OZDIRECT

Ha ha - Oh God - now I'm even MORE worried. Well I've ordered lots online before and never had a problem - but this is the first (and last) time from this company.

I wish I had posted a day earlier to have saved you some worry - I threatend them I would, but thought I'd give them one more day. But when they wouldn't take phone calls or reply to my email about the refund I got mad. I think if things have gone pear shaped we'll have a battle on our hands.

Sorry - Let's keep our fingers crossed

Re: Warning on OZDIRECT

For other people's experiences with this mob try googling "Ozdirect"

I personally bought something thru them a while back, can't remember what it was though. Didn't have many dramas. I had whatever it was i ordered a couple of days later.

Re: Warning on OZDIRECT

I'm sure they have been around for a while and have many happy customers but if business has taken a downturn and they are in any kind of financial strife then the customers would be the last to know. Perhaps they haven't been paying suppliers and are not getting their stock. Of course they will still accept new orders and receive payment hoping to then get that money to their suppliers so that they can continue trading and in the meantime if they upset a few customers - so be it.

But the fact is that they are currently not fulfilling orders as outlined on their website, they are not willing to receive any phone calls to discuss back orders, and will not respond to emails discussing refunds. This HAS to set alarm bells ringing.

Re: Warning on OZDIRECT

Marco555,
Some good news....well for me at least, I hope yours is on it's way!
After seeing your thread, I sent them an email with my concerns, and referenced them here.
They replied quickly (next day) and explained it would be dispatched within 24hrs. They also gave me the option of cancelling - but I did want the device, so I held on.

Linsys Box this morning 10am from Starttrack. Not over-packed - in its actual box, so may have come direct from the ditribution centre....or they were in a hurry!

Anyway a good result, a couple of days later than I thought - but I am happy enough.

Hope it works out - post in the thread when yours is resolved.

Re: Warning on OZDIRECT

Well I guess I must have annoyed them because although they emailed me to say they would dispatch it Friday I still haven't heard that it has happened. And I DID order and pay before you!

Still I feel encouraged that yours has arrived safely without problems. I'll let you know when mine arrives.
