DMA2100/2200 without router? Impossible?

Some people tried to get the DMA2100 to connect to a PC wirelessly without the use of a router /access point. So far without success I think. I wonder if there is anyone who got it done? Or maybe wired with a cross cable?

Re: DMA2100/2200 without router? Impossible?

I can't even get mine to connect either way, with a switch, direct connection with cross over or a wireless router....

Re: DMA2100/2200 without router? Impossible?

Well Ive tried a few combo's now with network connectivity, and turns out I can could only get it to work with a Dlink Wireless router and putting in manual IP Address', using cables (as I ended up breaking the antenna port so cant test the wireless now).

I tried a cross over + also a switch too but didn't have any luck mate, so probably best to get a proper router.

Re: DMA2100/2200 without router? Impossible?

I ordered a Linksys WRT350N so I guess that should do the job. But I am still curious if it can be done without. Apparently not sofar

Re: DMA2100/2200 without router? Impossible?

I was thinking about that one, but not after I had a read of this. http://reviews.cnet.com/networking-a...-32018493.html

Should be ok though, I think it'd just be slower from file transfers.

I ended up ordering the Apple Airport Extreme one though as it had some great review, Ill post up how it goes.
