DMA2200 content not updating properly

I have a Sony VAIO VMC , a DMA2200 (wireless at this point) and a Linux Samba Share.

I spent yesterday RIP'ing CD's onto the Samba Share using Windows Media Player and then fixing up some of the TAG's.

The VMC picked these up straight away - but the DMA is sluggish (at best) at picking up the new files.

What's worse - once it picks up the new files, it does not pickup any changes made to the files (it did eventually - overnight) - the VMC picked these changes up straight away.

If I add the music to the VMC the DMA picks it up straight away.

Also - I told the DMA to stop watching certain picture folders - but it still has the content from those folders and I can't delete them.

What is the best practice for getting / keeping the DMA to be up to date?.

Thanks,
Col.
Note: my VMC has not had SP1 offered yet - so not sure if that would help?

Re: DMA2200 content not updating properly

After some searches - I think the extender is good for picking up new content - but not so good at picking up changes!

The best advice I found on this issue was here - http://www.slickpepper.org.uk/windows-media-center

Deleting CurrentDatabase_360.wmdb for Mcx1, and then having it rebuild everything worked wonders.

Thanks,
Col.

Yep, this seems to be an unfortunate occasional necessity with either the DMA2x00 or Xbox 360. Also copying that file from my main VMC user to my Mcx1 user to get my Auto Playlists to appear on the extender.
