Ok guys. I have slightly changed my original idea of scraping weather info and punching it formatted into some pages for viewing in MCE.
I introduce 'TellMeWeather'!
Over the last few days i have changed my original script to incorporate the MS TTS Engine (Text to Speach) and limited the amount of info grabbed at a time. More formatting and 'De-HTMLing' was also done.
The script will grab up to 4 days of weather information (selectable) for one of Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney or Perth and READ it to you!
I think it's pretty cool and i got many WAF points for it too.
I simply assigned the script to run when i hit an unused button on my remote (MCE FusionRemote) Works a treat! You could also add ito 'More Programs' if you want.
Now, I am no master programmer so please don't give me grief over bad programming etc. If you think it's bad, fix it, comment it and send back to me. Either way - It works as is. Alternatively, if someone wants to volunteer thier time to port to VB.NET and compile properly, i'm sure that'd be better. I would do it but I just CBF.
I'm hoping that the load on the source site is not going to be bad enough for them to see some significant spike.
I would but i think i'll wait a little first. Mainly because i can see that there is likely to be some bugs. I have tested it a fair bit but i'm sure something will come out of the woodwork
