I purchased my (supposedly) Microsoft MCE remote along with an MS MCE wireless keyboard. It has "Model No: TSBX-IR01" on the back and came in a plain white box. I suspect it's a clone from another old thread I found on here.
The issue I have is that the IR receiver that came with it has 2 IR Blaster ports on it but there were no IR blasters in the pack. I'm not sure if I should have received any but it's too late now to complain.
Is there anywhere I can source at least one IR Blaster lead from? I want to be able to control my Foxtel box through the remote.
Here's a pic of it:-

Reason: ETA link
i called around (in sydney) a few months ago looking for the IR buds with no luck. i believe you are supposed to get them with the remote (i only got one).
not sure what i can suggest, as i have read on this forum that microsoft remotes are not being made and the only equivalent is the hauppage remote (a copy of the microsoft one). maybe find out if the hauppage comes with the buds but i guess you'd have to buy the whole package.
What so you can use it to learn IR keys from other Remote? I really don't think you can do that as when it came there was no softwares included..
No, it's so I can control my Foxtel Digital box from the MCE remote. You basically tape the thing over the IR sensor on the Foxtel box and that allows the MCE remote to send signals to it (at least that how I understand it to work).
Noob question - but how does the blaster work? Is it possible to control my receiver (eg. volume & source select) with the blaster? I have my TV connected to the Foxtel box & the VMC and its a pain having to adjust volume & source. Ideally when the VMC comes out of sleep I'd like it to tell the receiver to change source, but I have not worked out if this is possible.

The blaster just sends codes from the MCE remote to the IR sensor on the box in question. I'm not sure if the MCE remote would use compatible codes for your receiver. The IR receiver that came with my remote has 2 plugs so multiple signals must be supported. Sorry but I haven't got that far with mine (no blasters).
A Harmony remote may be a better option for you as they control just about everything.

i had also looked to do this, but from what i was told and what i found out is that the blaster cannot send volume commands. in the end i had to build a ir receiver from jaycar
i got the mce remote to learn the volume up and down commands (using its learning function) on my amp, so when i press volume up the signal goes to the jaycar receiver and then changes the volume on the amp.

Hi not sure if this is quite the same but given that you have been looking into ir receivers you may know. I am trying to get my selectv into my VMC setup. Have got all the multiple tuner issues sorted (to a point) but am at the stage where I am actually trying to setup the composite input on an analogue tuner card and can't get past the point where media centre is asking for an IR receiver.
I have a Logitech harmony remote and an embedded ir receiver in a Zalman HD160. Everything works fine to date and I have been able to control everything that I want so far. I do want to add a satellite input from a STB now though and this is where I am getting stuck. Is my only solution to get a MS remote with blasting capabilities or is there another way around this? I don't really want to get another remote as once I get around the tuner setup I will use the Logitech remote and the other one will only go into the cupboard never to see the light of day again!
I noticed your comment around a Jaycar kit and thought this maybe a solution? Any ideas? Or is there a way to make VMC to "think" I have the receiver present?
Alternatively, you can get yourself a DVB-S card, with CAM and install it directly into your machine (therefore not requiring the set top box). There should be instructions posted here somewhere for selectTV.
