Pioneer Dreamvision VFD display

Does anyone else have a Pioneer Dreamvision Media centre PC? I have on and have an annoying problem with VFD (front panel display) where it does not display the correct information IE after loading the drivers the display will work fine but after playing a dvd and going back to tv the display will just display DVD and not change - a reboot of the system gets the VFD working again it is a futaba vfd - does anyone have any idea?

THe Pioneer FTP web site has drives for the display but had not made any difference.

Re: Pioneer Dreamvision VFD display

Futuba is the manufacturer of the actual display component, but do you know who makes the actual complete VFD module (display+driver chip+PCB+driver software)? It's probably the OEM iMON one from SoundGraph. Perhaps you could provide a link to the specs of the actual Dreamvision PC you have. Maybe there's some clues there.

Re: Pioneer Dreamvision VFD display

The reason I said futaba is that was what it was listed under in add/remove programs when I had the Pioneer drivers loaded - an email to Pioneer support 31 Aug has not (yet) been replied to.

Here is a link to the product page http://www.pioneercomputers.com.au/p...asp?c1=4&c2=26. DreamVision VIIV MCE Set Top PC

Under the specs it just says VFD display so sorry I do not have any further information. I do remember that the "aggregator service" would stop responding when the pioneer drivers were loaded.

Re: Pioneer Dreamvision VFD display

mmm...the reason I suspected it was an iMON unit was that I had the same problem with an Antec Fusion case that had one installed. The problem was solved by later driver releases direct from SoundGraph, so I was thinking if you could find out what module Pioneer use you could try downloading drivers straight from the display manufacturer. Any clues in the driver inf files? Does it mention a manufacturer of vendor?
