Basic PSU connection question to a mATX

I am just putting together a new MCE. The components in question are a Gigabyte MA78GPM-DS2H mobo and a Zalman 460W noiseless PSU.

I must say PSU connectors always make me think twice, so this may well just be me looking for reassurance!

I have connected the 10x2 and linked 2x2 power connectors (making the 12x2) to the mobo, no problem. There is another 2x2 power connection over behind the VGA port, I don't recall previously connecting the second 2x2 power connector to a mobo, but then this is my first AMD too! Do I need that power connector? The documentation is to say the least, unclear.

The mobo documentation talks of a protective cover that should not be removed if using 2x10 supply, but there was no protective cover. This has fuelled my constant uncertainty when connecting PSUs, hence the question.

Yes to the extra 2x2 - how long since you hooked up a mobo? There are boards where that connector is a 4x2 now too.
