Question What to use after the death of the MS IR receiver and remote?

OK, so I'm creating a shopping list for a good mate for a new VMC (with proposed specs I will post shortly), but have come a bit unstuck with the whole MS IR receiver / remote question now that they are not made anymore. To me this used to be the easiest bit!

So the question is where to from here. Is there an accepted ready replacement?

I have seen this http://www.digitalnow.com.au/otherproducts.html

but have one other possible option, I was suggesting a Silverstone LC20, what if I go the LC20M and he used a universal remote (I think he's got one - still checking)?

Re: What to use after the death of the MS IR receiver and remote?

I have the Silverstone GD01 case with a built in Imon VFD, the imon software can be set to the mce remote and I use a Harmony 525 universal remote set to the mce configuration which all works really well.

Re: What to use after the death of the MS IR receiver and remote?

I was having the same problem so I did a bit of research and ended up with the Rock RM-VR1: http://www.rockrock.com.au/index.php...=77&Itemid=173

I have been using it for about 2 weeks now and it has been great so far (keep in mind that it only works with Vista).

Prices start from $30 if you do a search on staticice: http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/...remote+control
