msi 8600gts rocks

Haven't been around for a while because of work comittments and home.
I decided to do a few upgrades.
Just upgraded form a msi 8500gt/hdmi to a msi 8600gts/hdmi.
Because i am running a micro atx in a i-cute box i went and bought a zalman znf100 fanless heatsink, and a blue-orb cpu fan.
I now have a extra pci slot for a extra tuner.
Also stuck in a pioneer blu-ray player.
for the last 4 weeks it's running nice and cool.
Got a about 200 dvd videos.
So far only 7 blu-ray movies(looks like i will have to start up a new collection in blu-ray).

Re: msi 8600gts rocks

If you want to push your luck, have a look at the 177.72 beta drivers (from Guru3d) - I'm trying to tell myself that I'm seeing things that I want to see, but gee they look good. Also, YCbCr422 is now an output option - can't get it to work with my LCD (which should support it) yet, but it shows they are putting in some work on them.

Media Center
Re: msi 8600gts rocks

I am running the latest drivers from nvidia and find they are running sweet with the plasma and the 15 inch lcd which i have set up as a scrolling picture frame.
Plasma 1920X1080 and lcd is 1024X768.
The only thing i am not keen on is how blu-ray play movies isn't tied into media centre alot better.
After all said there's no such thing as the perfect media centre.
