Recommend hardware

My HTPC is nearly complete but I need a few more components to completely get full satisfaction from it, maybe someone can help?

1. Firstly - does anyone know where to but the singlt SPDIF cable to connect from the motherboard to the video card. (I own a 8800GTS 320Mb card)

2. Secondly - I am currently using a set of Logitech X-530 speakers temporarily, the sound while playing movies is begging to annoy me and the wife of all things. I was going to purchase a set of Logitech's Z-5500D speakers but I'm worried they'll be insufficient for a HTPC. So I am now looking at a receiver that needs to have HDMI and is of a slimline design (I don't have a large entertainment unit). Something like this which I'm serriously looking at - http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/jvc-...er-ampliflier/

3. Thirdly - The obvious, a good quality set of speakers without breaking the bank. I was looking at these from Bose - http://www.dreamtheatre.com/nav/3x8x...partdetail.dts, a little expensive though, any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Recommend hardware

1. Use you on-board sound, coax or optical to that new receiver.
2. I would recommend Yamaha http://www.yamahamusic.com.au/produc...rs/default.asp
I have RX-V1800B, but you can get cheaper models which will do.
3. Bose is crap, sorry. Get the best central speaker, you can afford. Then decent surround speakers. Then rear speakers - spend less, as they work less of all.
95% of sound comes from your central speaker. 4% from surround, 1% from rear.
Spend as much as possible on subwoofer - it is important. Volume of sound comes from it.

Looks good but if you're able to have a look at the picture, it may be better explained. Is there a decent receiver out there with preferrably HDMI in/out that is slim lined?

Smile Re: Recommend hardware

Well, I think I have finally found the system, not the highest quality speakers I would assume but none the less full functionality for what I need, 3 HDMI outs and 1 HDMI in and is of a slim design and shouldn't cost the earth. Not listed in Australia yet though, have sent an email for expected arrival.

Thanks to Vlad though!
