Hi,
FIRST ISSUE:
I also have exactly the same problem. When I initially plugged the diNovo mini dongle in, it worked as long as I restarted the HTPC. Then everything ceased working. When the mini worked, it only had Vista drivers installed.
After the mini stopped responding, I tried to install Logitech SetPoint 4.60 software, which proved to be a big mistake. I ended up spending several hours deleting registry paths, hidden devices etc. just to notice that nothing worked.
After that I took the battery out, put it back in and voilà, all of the functions and buttons worked again. After this brief moment of stupendous joy I fired up MediaCenter and then a minute or two passes --> everything else but the touchpad stopped from responding: no keyboard, no functions, not even the secondary option for the touchpad (the arrows) worked. Again, the fix is to take the battery out and put it back in. Nothing else works.
All the guys who have the diNovo mini malfunctioning, do you have Vista x64? I just thought it could be helpful to narrow the issue down to 64-bit version, in case everyone experiences the same thing. I have x64 and this is not the only problem I've stumbled upon with it.
I have a secondary (not sure what class) bluetooth dongle at home, I'll try that today if it would help.
SECOND ISSUE:
If and when this thing starts working, I'd also like to change some of the functions that the mini provides by default such as which web browser to use etc. For this you need to have Logitech SetPoint 4.6 or newer and preferably the ÜberInstall which allows you to alter all of the button functions independently
http://www.mstar.net/users/rlowens/). I'm also having a problem with the SetPoint software not showing me the settings tab for my diNovo mini because of a software conflict or something. To help with this issue I've found a quick fix, I'll see if this works also today (
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/in...6016&forumid=1):
STEP 1:
Save these steps in Word or Notepad and restart your computer. After it reboots, right click "my computer" and open up the "device manager"
STEP 2:
Find the 'keyboards' tab in the device manager tree. (Or mice if it's the mouse tab missing, or both if both tabs are missing, and do the same with each step, depending on your situation)
STEP 3:
Right click 'logitech HID keyboard' and choose 'properties' ..(it may be something different but it looks like that, and HAS to say logitech.. if it doesnt email me and i can send you the fix for that stupid problem as well)
STEP 4:
select 'update driver' (make sure it can check the internet for drivers as well.. and make sure you choose the 'automatically' option
STEP 5:
Let it search until its done.. be patient here.. took about 5 minutes for it to finish for me at least
STEP 6:
there is no step 6, thats it, done, voila, like that.
I'll post a new message after my experiments are done. This is overly frustrating, hopefully someone finds a permanent resolution.
