MCE remote in Melbourne?

Hi,
Just about finished putting together my system. I've been asking at a few places for an MCE remote, but they all seem to be out of stock. Anyone know where to get one in Melbourne (preferably south-east/bayside suburbs) ?

Failing that, any suggestions? Get a Harmony remote and a IR receiver of some kind? (I don't have one in my case).

Thanks

Re: MCE remote in Melbourne?

In the southeastern suburbs, I would suggest CPL, MSY or PCCaseGear. Not sure if they actually have them in stock, but they are the best stores in the area.

Harmony is good, will control all of your other equipment at the same time, but if you don't have a receiver in your case, you will probably end up having to get the MS remote anyway. Get it first, see if you want universal later.

Have a look at this site.

It is a huge search engine of all things IT and more within Oz and lists the states when the items are displayed.

All in all a good link to bookmark.

Re: MCE remote in Melbourne?

The Hauppauge versions seem to be available. I haven't read any reviews, but that's the one I plan to buy.

Once again, staticICE is your friend

Re: MCE remote in Melbourne?

Does anyone know if the Hauppauge MCE remote can be "taught" to turn a TV on and off (like the MS one can)?
