did you set the drive's jumpers to master?

Yes I did. The Vantec site said I if I cannot see the device then I need to format disk but how do I do this if I cannot see it under disk management. Do you know what code 10 error is.

After heaps of time spent I took the hard drive back to the supplier and they told me there was a chip on the board missing. They tried to say I damaged it but after some discussion they agreed to replace it. It works great now. Thanks for the help.
