Wake on USB with MSI K8N

This is my first post after weeks of reading over posts trying to find a solution to my problem - which unfortunately, I didnt find, but on the bright side, I did figure it out for myself, so I thought I'd post it here for anyone else with the same problem.

My problem was waking up from sleep using the MCE remote. There was no power going to the receiver, so no amount of reg hacks or windows settings could help. Frustratingly, the BIOS on the MSI K8N Neo is not particularly good, and there is no Wake on USB option. I tried all of the build in USB ports, to no avail. There is also no +5v usb jumper on this board, although I knew my PSU supported the feature.

The only workaround was to use the extension USB bracket that came with the motherboard. It plugs into the USB header on the board, and for some reason, that still gets power when the PC is off. Presumably, if you plugged your front USB into the ports, that would work also.

Hope this is all in the right forum, and I hope someone else can learn from my misery.
