Re: RCA Inputs on Computer

You won't be able to view/use your xbox through Media Center as it only supports set top box inputs (where it can actually change the channel on the STB). There's no plain "AV in" channel. Also, Media Center needs specific types in input cards - ones with their own MPEG2 encoder built in (your's probably doesn't).

You might need to look at an app called Dscaler (the app - version 4, not the decoder - version 5) - it should allow you to use your AV inputs within it (instead of using the MCE interface).

That's about the extent of my knowledge on the matter, hope it helps.

Justin

Re: RCA Inputs on Computer

That really is very interesting, Justin.

Milkyjoe, what model number of HP computer are you using? I would presume that the front av inputs belong to the machine's capture card. I use mine for capturing analogue video from a VCR or an older model movie camera, and it works fine. i would not want to risk that function by installing more software, but if you do decide to try Dscaler, I would be very interested to learn how you went.

Thanks,

King Hilary.

Re: RCA Inputs on Computer

or you could try to use another capture app like ulead videostudio(or similar).

Youre better off getting one of those converters that will allow you to use your pc monitor as a display for your xbox in HD(or whatever your monitor supports)
