MS MCE Remote REW & FWD key not working

Hi,

I just got a "new" media centre--Maestro (Amd X2 3800, Asrock 939dual-sata2, silverstone case, 2xAverTV Hybrid+FM PCI, Nvidia 6600 & mce 2005). The pre-installed mce 2005 crashed and I had to format the hard drive to install the new version.

Everytime, when I press REW & FWD key on the remote control while watching live Tv, the Tv program will disappear and there will be a sign of "Stopped" & "Resume" shown up in the middle of the screen. Unless I watch Dvd/Divx, there is no way I can get "My Tv" work again. The whole Tv screen is like frezzed.

I have upgraded all latest winows software. The version of Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver is 5.1.2600.2825. I dont know how to fix the problem. Pls help. Thanks.

Re: MS MCE Remote REW & FWD key not working

You're using a non compliant mpeg2 decoder (probably FFDShow). Look up deccheck & install it to see what you're using. You'll need a compliant decoder (such as Nvidia's, Cyberlink's or Intervideo's decoders).

All the info can be found on this site - now you know what you're looking for, search away.

Re: MS MCE Remote REW & FWD key not working

I think your question might get overlooked in this part of the forum (for Introductions). There is another section that deals with 'other
hardware' that you can find here:

http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...-hardware-mce/

Perhaps try reposting there and see how you go.

Justin is right. I've installed Nvidia Purevideo and the problem is solved. Thank you.
