MCE Remote Drivers

I have recently reinstalled MCE 2005 and have either lost or never had the original drivers for the standard OEM Remote. I have a feeling that they are included in the OS however can anyone be certain to know where or how i can install them. If not can i dl them.

Also while Im in this area, I have what I have come to understand to be two IR leads that I have no clue how to use or exactly what they do - I have heard things about them being able to control other set top boxes or paytv - Where do these fit on the PC and how do i install/use them?

Thanks for the help Im sure Im not the first to surface these questions

Re: MCE Remote Drivers

The drivers are part of MCE2005 however you may have to install a patch to get it to work "ehome rollup1" I think it's called. Once installed the remote should work once plugged in.
The 2 leads are remote senders that control PVR's as you say. They plug into the receiver then transmit signals to the PVR which could be in a cupboard or hidden elsewhere. Can't give any more info as I've never used them. Hope this helps and points you in the right direction..

Re: MCE Remote Drivers

Thanks for the help i found them

If anyone has used the extra IR things to control other boxes, etc a little explanation of their setup and use would be helpful

Re: MCE Remote Drivers

No problem, it's usually the little things that are the most annoying to fix as the solution whilst simple is usually not obvious to anyone new to mce and all it's oddities.

PS There's a thanks button that we all appreciate being pressed when a post has been useful
