Question Remote Question

So I'm on the road to build my first HTPC but I'm stuck on the remote hardware.

I'm currently using MCE 2005 Sp2 RollUp2.

What sort of remote would suit this OS?
When I buy a remote does it come with a remote reciever?
Do the logitech remotes come with a remote reciever?

I'm looking to bundle my TV and my HTPC into the one remote are there any out there that can do this and do they come with the remote reciever?

Thanks! Hopefully this will get me one step closer to my HTPC!

Re: Remote Question

The harmony remotes don't come with the receiver, but for mine they are the best universal remote.

My recommendation would be to pick up a genuine MS remote and receiver package. You can teach the MS remote how to change the volume on an amplifier or TV, as well as power on the TV.

If you need more functionality you can then buy a harmony remote and use it with the MS receiver (as I do).

Yes - I totally agree with dgaust - get the MS remote (try to pick up an OEM version, it should be a lot cheaper - around $40) & then if you want more functionality get one of the Harmonys.
