Now this is not strictly an MCE issue but since I am using MCE2005 on my main home PC and I use this keyboard with it I thought I should post here.
I have this weird little problem whereby it seems every second reboot or resume from standby sees my keyboard being completely disabled. The mouse works fine but there is absolutely no response from the keyboard unless I reboot. This is really frustrating the living daylights out of me and before I go uninstalling and reinstalling drivers etc 500 times I just thought I'd post here in case anyone has experienced the same issue. If so, what was the resolution? Any suggestions?
Had the same problem with this keyboard after being told I had other electrical devices disrubing the signal at boot up and other numerous bull**** stories I finally got the receiver replaced and worked okay for about 3 months then I threw it in the bin.

Don't Know what the real problem was.
Good Luck
Well I know the unit isn't faulty because I've been using it with another machine for quite a while. Looks like I'll have to uninstall the drivers again and try reinstalling.
Thanks anyway.
Phil
Happens to me often as well. I have the bluetooth one. I have to re-pair the device through the bluetooth manager to get it to work again.
Yes but that would be an unrelated issue. The fact is that the mouse works perfectly every time while the keyboard is very consistent in only working every second time I reboot.
You could try plugging the receiver into another usb port, or try plugging the PS/2 port in for the keyboard instead of relying on the usb, or failing that then re-establish a new rf signal by following the instructions under the receiver.
You may have rf intermodulation caused by interferance from another 2.4ghz transmitter in your house somewhere - could be cordless phone or dock, microwave, toys etc, but just try re-establishing a new connection and it should clear itself up.
Failing that, I had issues when the batteries got past <50% and had to move the receiver closer.
Good Luck,
Cheddo.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm fairly confident that the issue has nothing to do with the signal because with a bit of further testing it's quite consistent... any time I cold boot the keyboard is disabled. If I then press the reset button (I've set it in the BIOS to halt on keyboard errors) it works perfectly every time. It's as if it needs to be powered on before post to establish a connection. I might try playing around with the USB power settings and see if that helps.
Once again thanks for taking the time to respond.
Cheers,
