New Hard Drive Install

After Intializing a new HD , do I want it to appear as Simple , or Dynamic , and what do these terms mean and do ...???

At this stage it is listed as Simple ..... ????

Leave it simple, don't go dynamic unless you wish to span across hard drives. In fact I am sitting here today copying 600Gb of data off two spanned dynamic drives in XP so I can go back to Basic ready for Vista - Damn you M$ !
