Using LOGITECH diNOVO Keboard Mouse

HI,
I am a new user of Media centre community. I have recently built my first Xp Media centre PC. After few issues I managed to get it going. I have a Logitech MX3000 and having a lot of issues with distance, interruption and loss of connectivity due the distance from the PC and objects in the middle. I need to get a decent Keyboard mouse solution. I was looking around and found that LOGITECH diNOVO MEDIA DESKTOP LASER W/ ULTRA-FAST BLUETOOTH 2.0

http://www.i-tech.com.au/products/30...TOP_LASER.aspx

I saw that this keyboard comes with separate keypad and I heard that it will work as a fully functional remote control for WMC 2005. Is that the case? Will it have all the functions as you would expect form a IR remote or I still be going back to use the rest of the K/B and mouse. My plan is that if it works then use the this keypad as a remote for WMC and use K/B and mouse only when not using the media centre. Will that work. I will greatly appreciate your help and support

Thanks and Regards

Re: Using LOGITECH diNOVO Keboard Mouse

Unfortunately this area poses a complex question and for the most part it revolves around how you use your HTPC. The main issue being whether or not you want to use the PC for activities other than media. If you plan to use it as a multi-purpose PC then you might want to spend significant amounts on something like the DiNovo. Unfortunately I can't tell you much about that specific keyboard but IMO it would be wasted on a dedicated HTPC. On the other hand, if you use your HTPC as a dedicated Media Center then the cost of such a combo is probably out of proportion to any benefit. For the record my HTPC is a dedicated Media Center as this makes for the least possibility for problems and as such I rarely touch the keyboard. In this case the standard MCE remote and Keyboard work quite well although much improvement can be gained by adding a Harmony remote.
Personally I am yet to find a keyboard which is particularly an improvement on the MCE keyboard so for now I won't waste my money. On the other hand, if someone were to come up with something rechargeable with backlit keys and integrated optical trackball I might be tempted to have a look.
