Remote problems - ehome infrared transceiver

Hi Everyone.
Im about to rip something paart here
Ive had MCE 2005 installed on a machine for a while with everything working fine. I then set-up another one which was acting as the main MCE machine in the lounge and relegated the original to the bedroom. The MS remote went with the main machine to the lounge and I was using a cordless keyboard in its place. Anyway I have now acquired a new PVR-150 and the associated Hauppauge remote. Followed hauppauge installation instructions and plugged remote in hoping for a nice easy congrats and away we go. No such luck.

Receiver detects as ehome infrared transceiver - but no drivers found. Have pointed it at install cd - no luck

Have copied irbus.inf and irbus.sys and expnaded and pointed installer at that - no luck says no hardware info in that location

Have installed Hauppauge ir program and update program no luck

MCE Rollup 2 was installed again - no luck

Changed usb port - no luck

Uninstalled device - uninstalled all previous copies of device (from dev. manager) allowed re-detect - no luck

Hunted high and low for drivers on the net - found them at TGB but link is gone.

Have shorted the terminals on remote - no luck

I have heard that they install if the remote is present during MCE installation but not after. Have got a hold of MCE IR update rollup 2 and trying that tonight - failing that looks like a complete re-install of MCE for me.... (again (yay)). The only thing i havent been able to dois let windows search windows update for me - as currently no internet on that machine. But will try that tonight as well

My question - does anyone know anything that will fix this - is there a driver install for this device. Will what i'm trying tonight work? Any help much appreciated folks.

Thanks

Chris

Re: Remote problems - ehome infrared transceiver

I had a similar problem with a recently purchased HVR-1300.
It seems that the MCE remotes that come packaged now are slightly different and are only compatible with Vista.
I contacted Hauppage and they sent me an old style remote which auto detected no problem.
Hope this helps.

Drivers were available for a long time on Media Portal site.

Anything in here? http://www.team-mediaportal.com/file...ivers/Remotes/

I think those drivers are for the non-MCE remote that are packaged with some of their cards. The one I had was, supposedly, an officially MCE compliant remote.
I don't think the O/P was clear on which type he had so hopefully they should have a working solution one way or the other now.
