Cool MCE2k5 MyMusic folder view - MusicalFolders

All,

I have just released my MCE plug-in called MusicalFolders

Now you can play files in a FOLDER and not have to worry about stupid the MCE ID tag view.

Features:
• Settings page to enter path of your music files
• Displays a list of all folders and files + drill though folders
• Can play a file by clicking on it or play a whole folder

Requirements:
• IIS to be installed. (install from MCE cds)
• .NET framework v1.1 (you will have this if you run windows update)

Current version is v1.2.1 and is the result of a couple weeks development. It is not finished yet but all the functionality is there.

Go get it for FREE!!!

Get from www.ssw.com.au/daniel/MusicalFoldersSetup.zip
I have added to the Plug-in library on this site also however it needs to be approved first.

What are you doing still reading. Go get it.

Enjoy.

Dan

Re: MCE2k5 MyMusic folder view - MusicalFolders

Deadeye,

Thanks for the 1.2.5 update, fixed those few issues I had raised earlier.
I am finding now when I select an artist, it shows all the albums, I then hit Play All and it sends multiple copies of the album name to the queue and won't play any music.
Any ideas.
Later,
Nudge

Deadeye,

Thanks again for putting in the hard yards, it's working quite nicely (esp. for a beta). You're working so fast your making me feel like a slack a#@e for not posting my proggies already, hehe. We need more people like you developing plugins and addons, great work!

P.S. I'll let you know if I run into any bugs...so far so good .

Cheers.

Please explain what you mean.

The Play all button will play any music in the current folder. OR if you have play sub fodlers selected in the settings then it will play everything.

UMM...

Re: MCE2k5 MyMusic folder view - MusicalFolders

I select an artist, which has a few albums, hit Play all and get the error meeasge shown in image 1. I have selected the play music in sub folders check box abd saved.

From the error it appears a \ is missing between the sub folder and the selected track.

Image 2 is a view of the queue after the error message. Loaded with album info but no tracks.

Re: MCE2k5 MyMusic folder view - MusicalFolders

Nudge,

I have attempted to replicate the problem you are experiencing however I am unable to. (even setup web.config the same and made those file names and folder names)

Anyway I THINK the problem is that there is a space before the file name or behind it. I am now trimming the file names.

Give the newest version 1.2.8 a go and tell me if it fixes the problem.

Re: MCE2k5 MyMusic folder view - MusicalFolders

Sorry my fault - still getting used to how the forums are laid out. I'd either update or remove the file in the downloads section too.
