Mobo assistants on pick please ;o)

hi all,

im up to my third HTPC and should know all the tricks, but still after perfection, i currently use vista 64 bit, with tri core(2.3g@) amd,2*2 gig ram,1 trig of 3 HDDs in a nice silverstone an17 silver case, use WMC keyboard and remote,Nvidia 750 series inbuilt 250 meg in a gigabyte HD720 mobo graphics BUT

i have problems i cannot resolve with my TV.
my LG 42" LCD with dvi to hdmi goes 'no signal' if i turn on HTPC before TV,so most of the time when my HTPC is recording i cannot turn on TV,i have to restart/hibernate,thus ending recordings...tried

*"make monitor HDTV"in Nvidia controll panel.
*using VGA cable is bad as quality is lower, resolution poorer and has more trouble when i restart.

other resolutions i have thought and been told here is to try a 'handshake' box that goes on my hdmi/dvi cable.

BUT im going to buy a new mobo, and also upgrade to 5.1channel digital out to my pioneer amp(fibre optical). IS THERE A MOBO WITH DVI ONLY OUT AND 5.1 channel with 4 ram slots,4 sats(prefer 6 sata) and shared graphics you could recommend?

thanks for reading,or even answering!

tackster...ps it makes me misses crazy, must resolve this week lol

I am using a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H and havent had any problems with my TV. It has HDMI, DVI, VGA, optical, coaxial and 4 ram slots. Also has 5 SATA ports and IDE. The intergrated graphics is plenty for doing 1080p playback and for me, I have built 2 HTPC's using this mobo and have not had any drama's.

One other option you could try with your current setup that worked on a friends tv is setting the POWER options in vista so that the MONITOR is never turned off and make sure you have a Screen Saver going. This solved the problem for my friend with no display when he turned his TV back on after it being off for a decent amount of time. Doing this though does not allow you to put your PC to sleep. I know that alot of people want to be able to put their PC to sleep but if you make a custom power setting you can setup your own power settings. I have my pc on 24x7 but have my CPU power settings so that it can vary between 5% and 100% power. I also have it so my harddrives can turn off after 20 mins. This is not the same as putting your PC too sleep but it might help your problems with your TV.
