New Build Help !

Hi All

The Gigabyte GA-EG45M-DS2H that I install 3 weeks ago, is going to be listed on Ebay next week and I am needing to purchase a new board and video card and I am looking for some advice or other suggestions.

I am leaning towards the

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P http://www.gigabyte.com.au/Products/...ProductID=2834

or the

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R
http://www.gigabyte.com.au/Products/...ProductID=2835

I am open to suggestions on alternate boards. I am also going to need a new Video Card that is capable to drive my Sumsung 58" 1080p Plasma that is due in a couple of weeks.

Cheers
Andrew

Re: New Build Help !

Probably go for the DS3R.
Theres a lot on the other board that you probably will not need.

I had a look at your specs, you may have to get some DDR2 800 RAM for the mobo - I dont think it supports 400MHz.

In terms of video card, I'd get something that has native HDMI out with passive cooling. I've seen pics of the new ATI 4550 (which hasnt been released in Aus yet) which fits the bill.
I think there might be a 9600GT version that has HDMI out and passively cooled.

Re: New Build Help !

Thanks.

Those specs, are a little outdated now. Actually they Mainboard, CPU now form my WHS. I have updated the specs if you are interested.

I actually have 4Gb of DDR 800 RAM in the current HTPC.
