MA78GPM-DS2H - HDMI Problem, No Signal.

I know this has been discussed all over the forum, and i have read it all. but still havent got a solution.

i have Denon AVR-2308 Amp, and a Mitsubishi HC900 Projector (getting a HC6000 soon)
so the HDMI goes from PC to the Amp, and then to projector (through component cables)
i also have a VGA connected monitor set up while i get this working.
using windows vista 64bit

I have tried doing the following:
Setting the HDMI as the primary display in control centre
Cloning the screen
Bios is set to D-Sub/HDMI
Latest drivers are installed
i have cold booted pc each time after settings are changed
fiddled with the Amp settings

i am getting to signal on screen the whole time. even at boot.

What can i do to troubleshoot this problem???

Re: MA78GPM-DS2H - HDMI Problem, No Signal.

are you sure the AMP will convert the signals for you???

i know there are some AMPs that if you input through HDMI, you need to output it with HDMI.

It says it does upscaling, but doesn't say anything about downscaling.
Maybe e-mail denon and ask them specifically.

I would say the above is definitely the case. All HD amps that I have looked at will only do HDMI in and HDMI out.

Re: MA78GPM-DS2H - HDMI Problem, No Signal.

My HDMI WILL NOT run while anything else is hanging off the adaptor, ie; if you have something plugged into the RGB or DVI, forget it, these will ALWAYS take precedence over the HDMI.

The minute I unplugged the lead from the RGB socket, bingo bango, HDMI started working.

I use VGA first, it works. Then enable HDMI in ATI Cataylst (it should detect) and disable VGA. Done
