Re: Ga-ma78gpm-ds2h

Is this any major difference between this motherboard and GA-MA78GM-S2H?

From the StaticIce I see that the GPM is actually cheaper than the PM in my area.

Gigabyte shows no difference between them using the comparison sheet
But looking at it individually there is 128DDR3 SidePort memory on the GPM and the GPM supports Dolby as opposed to DTS.

Is the GPM better option if they are around the same price ($2 difference)? Also can the GPM decode DTS?

Yes & yes - the sideport memory boosts the video performance & it has an ALC899A sound chip - currently the best onboard sound option.

Re: Ga-ma78gpm-ds2h

I ordered one of these yesterday from a shop here in Geelong, Vic. They said it would be a few days.....I resisted the temptation to just grab the GA-MA78GM-S2H they had already in stock...it should be worth the wait.

Simon.
