ga-ma78gm-s2h hdmi

Hi people
I have a htpc with the ga-ma78gm-s2h motherboard connected to a Grundig 40" lcd using hdmi cable.
Running Vista Ultimate 32 bit.
Problem is it has a pink tinge all over it, black is bright pink.I have checked all menus on the tv and there is no option to correct this. I have also checked the catalyst control center, nothing there either.

I am running catalyst version 8.4 and have tried 8.6 which is still the same. I can use VGA at 1024x768 which has a good picture.

Anyone else have this problem using hdmi?

Also has anyone had a problem with 8.6 in vmc when testing speakers in setup causing system to blue screen and reboot?

Re: ga-ma78gm-s2h hdmi

have you tried any other device on your tv using hdmi?
it could be the tv's hdmi port
it could be hdmi cable

Also dont use the 8.6 drivers, they are buggy as hell and cause issues like pc lockups and blue screens when watching live tv.
Go back to 8.5

Re: ga-ma78gm-s2h hdmi

Just an update.

I have connected using DVI on HTPC to HDMI on TV and there is no more pink colour to it.

Can DVI to HDMI play bluray? just for future upgrade.

Cheers

Yes, it can. Both can carry high def video.

HDMI can carry high def video & audio while DVI will only carry video. But if your video card supports it, a 2CH audio can actually piggy back on a high def video using a DVI-HDMI cable, by connecting a simple audio cable from your mobo's SPDIF header to the video card's SPDIF in.

But if you got an amp, then you can simply send your video via DVI-HDMI direct to TV and your digital audio through your mobo's SPDIF out (coaxial or optical) or 6-CH analog direct to your AMP.
