What is the difference between the two?

In my opinion the choice will have a lot to do with the operating system in use, in my case this will be " Mythbuntu " and the nVidia chipset is more linux friendly.
This board looks ideal for me given my choice of operating system. Cheers Dave

The GM is ATI 780G and the SM is nVidia 8200.

The 780G chipset has the upper hand overall from what I've read.
