I realise this is not strictly an MCE thing but it's my MCE MB :-)
PC is MCE2005. Athlon 2400 CPU on a Albatron KM18G Pro motherboard. Latest firmware.
Video card is a generic FX5500 with 163.71 driver. I am using the DVI output and that is going to my LCD TV. BIOS options for Standby are S1, S3 and S1&S3 (not sure how the last option can be both).
When I enter S3 standby via the power button it enters standby ok but when I press the power button to resume the screen does not fire back up. All the fans startup but the PC has no other signs of activity, ie no audible HDD activity but the HDD activity light does come on but stays on solid, and stays that way until I force a reboot.
S1 works fine , screen comes up and pc resumes perfectly.
Any suggestions where I should start looking to solve my S3 problem ?
I've tried the MCE Standby Tool but that made no difference.
Thankyou very much.

Reason: typo
Which driver do you refer to ?
The MB seems to support S3, would it be a BIOS option if not.
Does the power supply come into it, or is all of the power switching for S3 done at the MB ?
Cheers

Just my suggestion given the symptoms you describe. Remember the latest is not always the best. Hence my comment to check more widely for a version that others report as working with S3 in XP MCE.

Have you considered using S4, it takes a little longer to both go to sleep and recover but a lot of machines that have problems with S3 will do S4 without a problem.
Haven't considered that as my BIOS only states S1 or 3 but I guess Hibernation is different kettle of fish that may be unrelated to hardware and issues that may cause. Cheers
