ASUS M2NPV-VM output to both TV & PC

Hi,

Finally got my system working - well sort of.

I am using the TV out module on my ASUS M2NPV-VM board to send signal to an old Panasonic 100Hz flat screen CRT TV. (Although its old technology the TV images using my $40 digital STB are excellent. Much better than with any plasma I can afford.)

When not viewing TV but sending the desktop to the TV the image is very fuzzy. Can the desktop image on the TV screen be sharpened? Or can I send o/p to both TV and PC monitor at the same time?

Basic questions I know - but it's the first PC I have built.

Tks

Locky

Re: ASUS M2NPV-VM output to both TV & PC

Locky,

You'll be struggling to get the desktop looking much chop because the TV is comparatively low res - fine for video, but no good for text. It's effectively an 853x480 interlaced resolution monitor (if it's widescreen - 640x480i if it's not).

I used to have that mobo & I vaguely remember that you can output to both a TV & a monitor, but the monitor connection needs to be a DVI connection & not VGA (becuase the TV out uses the VGA resources). I'm not sure how you set it up - through the Nvidia Control Panel I assume.

I've got the same problem. What I did was to get a wireless card and remote desktop to the media centre...
