Cool AMD Live??? What does it do?

Hi,

I have 2 ASUS motherboards, M2A-VM HDMI and M2NPV-VM, both have a BIOS option to enable AMD live. Does anyone know what this option does and whether it is worth enabling?

I know it should be an easy question to lookup on the internet but I cant find many good answers.

Thanks.

F.

Re: AMD Live??? What does it do?

Hi Fraggle

It's the AMD away mode implementation, similar to the intel energylake options. It;s about the machine appearing to power down when in fact it is still ready for action.

Searching on "Away Mode" will give you a better idea of the BIOS feature, as opposed to searching on AMD Live which will more likely give you hits on additional services provided to Media Center users.

Ahhhhh no I think you may have this mixed up with something else. AMD Live! is:

Hi Windeath

Nope, not willing to admit that I am wrong. Never, ever, ever...

The original question was asking about the AMD Live! BIOS option, not the AMD Live!branding.

I dare not mention the AMD Live! Digital Audio and Video Solutions for Creative Professionals, which was the first usage AMD got out of AMD Live! branding.
